A message from the Regatta President
Well, it certainly feels like some kind of normality has returned now that we are all out there racing again. A gentle start earlier in the year but now in full swing. A great relief.
Next years International Paint Poole Regatta has moved to the early Bank Spring Bank Holiday SATURDAY 30TH APRIL TO MONDAY 2ND MAY 2022 to avoid conflict with the Queens Platinum Jubilee Weekend, and is shaping up to the best yet with all competitors racing for the coveted oldest trophy in yacht racing The Canford Cup
We are delighted that our very own Pip Hare, famed for her outstanding performance in the 2020 Vendée Globe round-the-world yacht race, will be guest of honour at the 2022 regatta prize giving, presenting the winners with their prizes.
With racing for 3 IRC classes and the IRC Southern Area Championships, 2 VPRS classes, 16 classes in all, it is going to be a hectic 3 days both on and off the water. I am so grateful to the committee who as always have been working tirelessly to put in place the best Poole Regatta ever.
This show case event is one of the highlights of the South coast calendar and, with 2022 likely to be the first full season of racing since 2019, one not to be missed with some of the best racing to be experienced on the South Coast in this spectacular bay, with the backdrop of the Purbeck Hills and organised après race at the various yacht clubs in the Harbour.
We are most grateful and indebted for the interest and support of our event sponsors, and we are delighted once again to have International Paint, Haven Knox Johnson, Stoneways Marine Insurance, PHC as sponsors of our event
I look forward to welcoming you to our event
